KATHMANDU, JUNE 16President Ram Chandra Paudel visited institutes conducting research and innovation in climate change, science, and technology in Germany on Sunday. Prez Paudel and his German counterpart discussed Nepal-Germany relations Prez Paudel requests Qatari Emir to help in Bipin Joshi's release Scientists at the research centers briefed the President and his entourage on the impacts of climate change.

In response, the President emphasized that scientists should not only conduct research but also suggest measures to address the pressing global issue of climate change."You have made significant progress in research.

Now, you can provide recommendations on how to effectively mitigate the impacts of climate change," President Paudel said to the climate scientists. President's press advisor, Kiran Pokhrel, reported that President Paudel sought suggestions from the scientists while informing them about the severe impacts of climate change in Nepal, such as the retreat of snow-clad mountains due to global warming.Officials and researchers from the German Centre for Geosciences, Potsdam Institute for Climate Impact Research, and the Nepali Research Institute for Sustainability apprised the visiting dignitary of various dimensions of climate change and related scientific issues.President Paudel arrived in Germany on Saturday night after completing his visit to Switzerland.Additionally, the President visited the Helmholtz Centre Potsdam - GFZ German Research Centre for Geosciences, where he learned about research conducted on various aspects of geosciences.The visitors were informed that scientists at Potsdam GFZ have been conducting research on earthquake monitoring in the sensitive Himalayan region of Nepal since 2015. .
